Pumpkin, cherry or apple – the only thing better than pie is more pie, right?
Join a company with one of the biggest slices of the pie in the world – an international hedge fund is looking to add 2 new engineers to its team of tech lovers.
You’ll be well compensated (trust us on this one), and have access to a huge range of perks focused on creating a work:life balance and improving employee wellbeing. From a free on-site gym and regular social events to continuous learning and investment in your progression, this company is focused on helping you love your job as much as possible.
If you enjoy varied day-to-days, you’ll fit right in here. From providing first-level support to the portfolio managers through to getting stuck in with application support, you’ll be hands-on in everything you do. You’re the kind of person who can keep a cool head, identify issues quickly, and creatively troubleshoot them even quicker. You’ll work with the back office team, too, to ensure the pricing and book-keeping is up to date, the security set-ups run smoothly, and to conduct disaster-recovery exercises.
There’s a satisfying level of maintenance involved here, with regular system checks and QA testing – as well as the deployment of application and system updates. You’ll be tasked with incident reporting and management, so will need the ability to communicate to a varied audience, presenting both issues and solutions to cross-functional team members. There’s a lot of autonomy here, and you’ll be taking ownership of this aspect of the business, using your background as an SRE to optimise everything you can.
You’ll have at least 3 years’ experience in the financial sector (in a Linux environment, ideally), and an ability to translate jargon to non-tech team members, as well as senior stakeholders and infrastructure and application teams. You’ll need experience with database management, along with Python, Jira and Tableau. A degree in CompSci, Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
Both their New York and Chicago offices are hiring for this role, so please specify which location you’d be interested in. There’ll be a level of travel for both successful candidates, too. For more info or to apply now, email firstname.lastname@example.org – no up-to-date CV required.
