The rise of contracting within Saragossa

Since launch in 2015 we’ve continued to grow, from a team of 3, to a team in excess of 60 and from a single office to 3 across the UK and North America.

As our team has evolved, so have our service offerings. As the temporary labour market adapts to meet emerging technology demands, we’ve recognised a great opportunity to improve our Contract resourcing business, through the appointment of Jonny Demko.

With Jonny on board as Director of Contract Sales, we feel more confident than ever in our vision – To establish ourselves as ‘The global partner for Investment businesses extending Technology capability’.

We’ve asked Jonny a few questions about starting his next adventure at Saragossa:

What factors contributed to Saragossa standing out to you when you were deciding on your next career step?

I was looking for an organisation with big ambition, a great team behind them, a strong reputation in the market & somewhere that would offer me an exciting challenge. In Saragossa, I believe I’ve found a home that will allow me to thrive.

Rory and Jimmy’s vision for the business is inspiring and the company values align well with my own.

Saragossa have built a brilliant team of people and they possess exceptional customer relationships across the sector. As such, the business has a great platform in place and my challenge will be to scale the Contract and Component (project delivery) product, providing enhanced value to our customers through these models. Ultimately, solidifying Saragossa as a leading provider for such services.

I’m excited to start this journey, which I know won’t be easy, but we know how to make it a reality.

How do you believe your prior experience will contribute to the development and growth of our organisation on a global scale?

I bring a wealth of leadership and market experience when it comes to driving and scaling a business focused on contract and project services, having spent the previous 15 years operating in a very successful PLC doing just this.

I’ve spent the entirety of my career aimed at the Financial Services sector, which matches Saragossa’s ongoing target audience and as a leader, I like to immerse myself with customers to ensure best in class service and maximise our opportunities to collaborate. I know the sector well and understand who we need to work with to achieve the results we have planned.

When it comes to building high performing teams, I understand what works and where it works globally. There is a clear recipe for success and taking the models to other geographies will very much be part of the roadmap.

In the next five years, where do you envision our team expanding, and what are your expectations for its growth?

In the next five years, I would envision that Saragossa has become a leading provider of flexible transformation and technology resource into the Financial Services sector. I would expect that the business has tripled its results across key financial indicators, and it has a high performing team of people delivering enhanced value into a far larger customer portfolio than it does today.

I would also expect that the flexible working success has expanded into other geographies, namely the US where Saragossa have started their expansion journey but quite possibly other key, global financial hubs also.
