In early March, Saragossa attended InvestOps 2024 in Orlando Florida, with the view to reconnect with some of our Buy-side clients, build new relationships and learn more about current industry trends.
One of Saragossa’s Co-Founders, Rory Gaston, was lucky enough to be asked to speak on a panel “attracting and nurturing talent”. He was joined by four key stakeholders in this space: Kelly Branco – CCO Tremblant Capital, Sara Poldaas – Director, Mawer Investment Management, Ken Slovin – SVP Head of Global Operations, Ariel Investments and Ned Moreland – Business & Investment Strategy, Vanguard.
They discussed topics such as:
- The methods used to attract top talent to organizations.
- Steps firms can take to retain and incentivize talent outside compensation and benefits.
- Tackling perceptions on what more junior talent wants from a role/organization.
During the three-day event, there was a great range of interesting panels and discussions but the key takeaway for us was how prevalent Gen AI was in every conversation/presentation/discussion but interestingly how the benefit of it within businesses is still somewhat of a grey area.
Aside from the obvious, it was amazing to see how inviting and welcoming all the attendees were, it was easy to build relationships, understand more about organizations digital journeys and create value from the interactions.
