Inevitably, new projects and ventures in any business don't always go to plan; some might change course and come out stronger for it, and others might fail. The important part is recognising all actions have consequences and we can take learnings from every one of them.

Inevitably, new projects and ventures in any business don’t always go to plan; some might change course and come out stronger for it, and others might fail. The important part is recognising all actions have consequences and we can take learnings from every one of them.

Failure, as a word, has many negative connotations and stigmas attached, which we don’t find helpful at Saragossa – especially when linked with individuals.

When things go wrong, it’s often due to multiple factors rather than one source of responsibility. Sometimes it’s no individual entity’s fault; however, the need to ‘point a finger’ often causes those involved to protect their self-interest by trying to explain away the problem to reduce or deflect responsibility. Regardless, the problem still impacts the customer, client or buyer.

Saragossa is known for its ability and willingness to ‘solve issues first’. To hold up our hands and take responsibility for our actions.

For us, there’s something hugely reassuring about connecting with people whose first action is to focus on fixing the problem and getting things back on track.

After the problem is solved, the next step is to dissect what went wrong to understand the chain of events that led up to it and then share our findings to reduce the chances of it occurring again.
